About us
My name is Kimberley Kemp, and for the past 25 years, this little knitwear boutique here in Birmingham has been my world.
When I first opened the shop, I didn’t do it for fame or fortune — I simply wanted to create something meaningful with my hands. Something soft, warm, and filled with care. Something that could bring comfort to others in the way creating brought comfort to me.
Life didn’t turn out the way I once imagined it would.
I was never able to have children, though I always dreamed of it. And when my husband passed away years later, I found myself completely alone — just me, my yarn, and a quiet room that suddenly felt far too big.
So I poured my heart into this boutique.
Every sweater, cardigan, and jacket I made helped fill the silence. Each stitch carried a memory — of love, loss, and the quiet strength that comes from starting over.
Through the years, it was you — my customers — who gave this place life.
Your kind words, your loyalty, and your warmth have meant more to me than you could ever know.
You became the family I never had.
There were hard days, of course. Cold winters, tired hands, and moments when I wondered if I could keep going. But every order, every visit, every message reminded me that what I was doing mattered — that something made by hand, with patience and love, still had a place in this world.
Now, as the years catch up with me, my body tells me to slow down. I can’t work as quickly as before, but my passion remains the same.
Because Kimberley Kemp has never been just a shop — it’s been my story, my home, and my way of staying connected to all of you.
Every piece you find here is made with care, warmth, and love — the way things used to be.
When you wear one, you’re not just wearing something I made; you’re carrying a part of my journey too.
Thank you — truly — for helping me turn my little Birmingham boutique into something far bigger than I ever dreamed.
With love and gratitude,
Kimberley Kemp
